Every year millions of Canadians can be seen wearing bright red poppies on coats leading up to November 11th, Remembrance Day.  There is a right way to wear the iconic symbol that has a deep Canadian connection.

“The proper way to wear a poppy is on the left-hand side over your heart,” said Danny Martin, deputy director, corporate services, with the Royal Canadian Legion. Commonly seen fixed to jackets, poppies can also be pinned to the left side of shirts and sweaters.

The poppy is a symbol to all, to remember those that sacrificed so much to keep our country safe. By remembering and honouring our veterans, hopefully the real cost of war will be driven home.
